Little Gate Secures Funding from the Skills Capital Fund to Empower Local Young People and Adults
Little Gate is delighted to announce its successful application for funding from the Skills Capital Fund. This crucial support will enable the charity to enhance its educational and employment readiness initiatives, providing invaluable resources for young people and adults with autism and learning disabilities in the Rother and Hastings areas.
The funding will facilitate two transformative projects:
- Little Gate College Interactive Classroom – The grant will fund the development and adaptation of an interactive classroom for Little Gate College, equipped with state-of-the-art technology to support young people aged 16-24. The classroom will offer an engaging learning environment tailored to their unique needs, helping them build essential skills for independence and future employment. Additionally, the grant will provide for a new minibus, ensuring accessible transport for students participating in the programme.
- Work and Thrive Project in Hastings – The Hastings allocation of the Skills Capital Fund will supply advanced interactive technology and resources to support adults with learning disabilities and/or autism. This project offers workshops in CV writing, interview preparation, communication, and self-care, equipping participants with the tools they need to succeed in the workplace.
“We are incredibly grateful to the Skills Capital Fund for their support,” said Mary Soul, Head of Fundraising at Little Gate. “This funding will allow us to create innovative spaces and opportunities that truly meet the needs of the people we support. By investing in education and employability, we’re building a brighter future for our local community.”
Little Gate continues its mission to ensure that young people and adults with autism and learning disabilities can achieve their potential. These projects are a testament to the power of collaboration and investment in inclusive growth.
